Members meet with officers and adviser to discuss matters of the chapter. Most of the FFA meetings occur during the school day, but occasionally meeting have been held outside of the school day.
A fun filled evening of competitive volleyball. FFA chapter from the surrounding areas are invited to attend the evening. A concession stand is available for refreshments and serves as a chapter fundraiser. Come on out to see if Juniata FFA Chapter wins back the trophy!
State Officer Visit
Students are visited by one or two state officers that lead them in leadership activites as well as share information with them about FFA. The state FFA officers always put on a great presentation.
Description of Conferences
National FFA Convention
The National FFA convention is held each October with nearly 55,000 FFA members and guests from across the country in attendance. Members participate in general sessions, competitive events, educational tours, leadership workshops, a career show and expo, volunteer activities and much more. It is one of the largest annual student conventions in the country.
Fall Leadership Conference
The Fall Leadership Conference is held every October at the Blair County Convention Center. The conference is open to 5 officers and 5 first year members. At the conference the officers will learn organization, leadership styles, and time management skills. The first year members will gain personal skills and knowledge about the FFA organization.
Agriculture Cooperation Establishes Success- (ACES)
ACES is held every February in Harrisburg. The weekend conference is designed to improve FFA members teamwork and leadership skills as well as meet other PA FFA members. Members attend workshops on Saturday, followed by a presentation in the evening and a dance ending the night. Sunday morning the FFA members listen to a motivational presentation and head home.
State Legislative Leadership Conference-(SLLC)
This is a three day conference held in March. FFA members who attend SLLC will be submerged into Parliamentary Procedure and the process of making laws. Students will learn about the political world by participating in mock meetings to vote and debate current agriculture bills in legislation. During the last day of the conference, members have a brunch with state legislators and tour the Harrisburg Capital building.
In January, FFA members attend the Farm Show Complex. In the morning, members are free to explore what the PA Farm Show has to offer. In the afternoon all FFA members attend the Mid-Winter Convention where they hear keynote presentations from agriculture industry and political members, recognize Keystone Degree recipients and award Freshman Jacket recipients.
FFA Activities Week
Every June 1,200+ FFA members invade Happy Valley to compete in Career Development Events. Students can compete in anything from Dairy Judging, to Forestry, to Wildlife and so much more. If students place high enough in their CDE they have a chance to win a trip to National Convention.
