East Juniata's Christian Fellowship Club, CFC, have been busy this holiday season. They completed not one, but two projects this holiday season to help spread joy to others in need.
For their first project they packed shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. This is the third year they've packed boxes for OCC. The first year they packed 6 boxes and packed 22 boxes their second year. The club was able to more than double that number this year with donations from students and staff. Their total number of shoeboxes for this year was 50!
For their second project students collected and packed cookies for Truck Stop Ministry. Students packed cookies into individual bags along with a verse and a handwritten note to be handed out to truck drivers at a truck stop in Carlisle, PA. This is the second year the student have done this project. This year they were able to pack 125 bags to be handed out to truckers.
"It was uplifting to see so many of our students work together to help spread kindness to others," said Mrs. Lightner. We can't wait to see how many shoeboxes and cookie bags they pack next year!!
