The East Juniata High School faculty and staff are proud to present our Students of the Month for October. These students were chosen for their overall integrity of character: teachers look at school spirit, initiative in school tasks, being a role model for others, service performed for the school and community, and other distinguishing markers, which include grades, good behavior, leadership, and good attendance.
Our senior student of the month is Wrett Smith, son of Lauren and Andrew Smith of Thompsontown, PA. He is a member of the EJHS varsity soccer, basketball, and track and field teams, as well as being in the National Honor Society. Outside of school, Wrett participates in Travel/AAU Basketball.
From the junior class, Silas Strickhouser was chosen. He is the son of Jennifer and Justin Strickhouser of Thompsontown. In school, Silas participates as a member of the EJHS basketball team. He is also in FFA and enjoys being in Net Sports Club for Activity Period once a month. Outside of school, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and playing more basketball.
Cohen Apple is the sophomore student of the month, and he is the son of Meagan and Andrew Apple of Richfield. Cohen is a member of the EJ golf, basketball and track and field teams. He also participates with FFA. Outside of school, he enjoys sim racing.
Mazie Neimond was chosen as the freshman student of the month. Mazie is the daughter of Carolyn and Levi Neimond. She and her family live in Cocolamus. Mazie is a member of the EJHS volleyball team. She participates in Journaling/Nail Art Club for EJ's monthly activity period. Outside of school, she enjoys participating in 4-H.
The 8th grade student of the month is Elsie Brubaker. Her parents are Jenessa and Mark Brubaker of McAlisterville. Elsie is participating in the fall play The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe and plans to sign up for the spring musical as well. She is involved with the EJHS Band, as well as The Light Fellowship, a student-run Christian gathering. Elsie is a member of the EJ junior high soccer team. Outside of school, she enjoys riding horses and attending youth group at Richfield Life Ministries.
Ana Snyder was chosen as the 7th grade student of the month. She is the daughter of Brittany and Tony Snyder, who live in McAlisterville. Ana is a member of the EJ junior high soccer team, and she plans to participate in the EJ spring musical. Outside of school, Ana enjoys hanging out with friends and playing soccer, as well as attending the Good News Lutheran Brethren Church youth group.
