Juniata’s softball team finished out their regular league season on May 16th with an overall record of 19-3. The girls hit many milestones throughout the impressive season, including competing in the TVL championship. Unfortunately, the team lost to UDAH 4-0, but Juniata put up a good fight against the number one seed team to finish out their ‘23 season. Making it to the championship wasn’t all the team accomplished, though — junior Elizabeth Gasier broke the TVL record for strikeouts earlier in the season. Juniata’s pitcher passed the previous record of 574 during the team’s second game against Greenwood. Gasier then went on to achieve over 600 strikeouts during the final playoff game. Of course, with their outstanding record, the girls aren’t done yet. The team will continue to play in Districts and compete for the PIAA title. We wish the girls the best of luck as they advance into their postseason!
