With half the season complete the girls soccer team is having a good season. With 5 wins and 5 losses. Juniata stands second in the West Tri-Valley League. 3 out of 5 of Juniatas losses were to Susquenita, Line Mountain, and Millersburg. These are all teams that are in the East TVL. Although the girls lost, don't let that fool you into thinking that they are a team that is easy to overpower. When faced against Millersburg, the girls put forth a united front, however that wasn’t enough to stop their opponents from scoring. The early season loss can be rectified later on in the season as the girls have more confidence and have been able to learn how to work as a team. When Juniata played against Susquenita, the East TVL champions in 2023, Juniata showed us the team that they are. Not only did the girls prevent the Blackhawks from scoring, but they played a well-rounded game and were able to hold off Susquenita for the whole game. The game went into 2 overtimes where Susquenita was able to score the singular goal of the game. Though the result of the game was a loss, the girls put in lots of hard work, which will stay with them the rest of the season.

Currently, Juanita’s Reagan Lowrey is 7th in the TVL as a scoring leader and 4th as a goal leader. Mylee Landis is 3rd in the TVL as an assist leader and Sara Montoya is 6th as assist leader. The Indians goal leader, Addison Sheeler, is 4th in the TVL with a save percentage of 75.86. Juniata's offense does a good job of breaking through the opponents defense as they score an average of 2.5 goals per game, 25 goals so far in the season. The girls have a good defensive plan, but some kinks could be worked out. Mariska Beward, a Senior on the team, does a very remarkable job of clearing the ball back down the field when it comes to her.

The girls have had a great start to the season, and we can expect the same for the rest of the games.
