The Juniata High School AP Language and Composition classes visited the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire on Thursday, October 5. Six of the students participated in the music competition, playing “Pastime With Good Company” by King Henry VIII. Ava Stoner and Teagan Trout played their trumpets, Melanie Lane and Kayanna Kristula were on clarinet, Kate Nace played her flute, and Ashlyn Fisher played the tuba. They scored 127 out of 180 points. Ava Stoner also participated in the Lord and Lady ceremony to be recognized for her achievements of being in the National Honor Society, advancing to district and region band, and being the Tri-Valley League Girls Pole Vault Champion in both 2022 and 2023. Many of the students are participating in the photography and creative writing contests, which are still open and have not been judged yet. All of the students enjoyed a day of fun with many different shows presented the whole day before the final joust. These students encountered many different dialects used by different cast members throughout the fair, such as Scottish and old English accents.
