On Saturday, February 24th, eight students from JHS participated in the Region III Band Festival. These students included Slone Smith, Ava Stoner, Cameron Good, Chris Martin, Kate Nace, Kayanna Kristula, Jessica Maben, and Hannah Ehrisman. Two students, Slone Smith and Kayanna Kristula, placed first chair in their sections, and will move on to States! Students left for Bald Eagle on Thursday, which was the day they auditioned for chairs and practiced music in preparation for the concert. On Friday, students practiced and finalized any corrections to their folder before the concert on Saturday. Students met Dr. Jonathan Helmick, Director of Bands and Associate Professor of Music at Slippery Rock University. The auditorium was full on concert day, and a standing ovation was given at the end of the performance.
