Veteran's day

Veterans Day is celebrated on the 11th of November for a very specific reason; 11:00 am, Nov. 11, 1918, the Armistice (a formal agreement of warring parties to stop fighting) with Germany went into effect after four years of war. On Friday, November 8th, JHS held its annual Veterans Day assembly. Every year, we take the time to remember the veterans who have served this great nation.

The band played the National Anthem, and Teagan Trout played Taps on the trumpet. The song Taps was originally played to signal “lights out” soldiers, but it is now played at military funerals or memorial services.

Isabella Armstrong presented her winning Voice of Democracy speech, answering the question: “Is America today our forefathers vision?”
