For members of our band here at Juniata, being accepted into the NAfME All-East Band is the highest possible achievement. Only four JHS students have ever attained such an outstanding accomplishment, the most recent being tenor saxophonist, Zach Marshall.
Having made it to All-East Band, Zach will have the opportunity to play alongside some of the most talented high school musicians from Connecticut, Washington D.C., Delaware, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, and Vermont.
As one of our most skilled, dedicated musicians, Zach is the perfect recipient of such a high honor. He is a highly active member of our band program and acts as drum major in the marching band. Far surpassing most band students, Zach has participated in ten PMEA band festivals during his high school career, and it comes as no surprise that he would qualify to participate in the All-East Band as well. In the words of our band director Mr. Eargle, “Zach is one of the hardest working students that I’ve had during my career. He’s incredibly dedicated and elevates the abilities of all those around him”.
