Every month, the teachers at Juniata High School have the honor of selecting one student from each grade to be chosen as “Student of the Month.” These students serve as exemplary peers, strive for greatness in the classroom, and encourage others, among other things. May’s Students of the Month are Natalie Popp (9th), Connor Peterson (10th), Evan Leach (11th), and Olivia Laub (12th).

May’s senior SOTM, Olivia Laub, is a very active student at JHS. She plays softball and is a cheerleader. Olivia is a part of Chorus, Jazz Band, Concert Band, SADD Club, NHS, Drama Club, and Yearbook Staff. Outside of school, she works at Weis Markets, sings, and hangs out with her friends. Her favorite memory of her time at JHS is performing as the lead female in the “Into The Woods” musical with her favorite cast. She will miss seeing the friends that she has gotten to bond with over the last four years.

Although she will look back on her time at JHS fondly, Olivia is looking forward to attending Washington & Jefferson College to major in biology and becoming more independent. She would like underclassmen to know that you should never take a moment for granted because you never know what is going to happen.
