Encanto is Disney’s latest addition to it’s animated movie collection that has wowed families across the globe. Encanto tells the story of a family blessed by a magical candle, and have been bestowed gifts. Everyone except the main character, Mirabel. While Mirabel deals with the struggle of being the only ungifted member of her family, she tries to uncover the mystery of her uncle Bruno in hopes of finding the cure to keep the magic of “casita” alive.

Encanto does an excellent job of enchanting the younger target audience, as well as bewitching an older generation with it’s relatable issues such as pressures of being the eldest, fitting in with family and having a role, and being the family black sheep. Encanto with its striking visuals, catchy musical numbers written by Lin Manuel Miranda himself, and its use of pathos to bring tears to even the most cold hearted person, deserves the score that it received on Rotten Tomatoes, a whopping 93% audience score. They may not talk about Bruno, but everyone sure will be talking about this movie!
