On Sunday, January 9th, the Golden Globes were held under a very peculiar circumstance. The highly-anticipated awards show was an entirely private event this year, and thus was not televised.
It was quite a successful night for West Side Story, which took home awards for best motion picture for a musical or comedy, best actress in a motion picture for a musical or comedy (Rachel Zegler), and best actress in a supporting role in any motion picture (Ariana DeBose).
In regards to television, Succession also won big with awards in the categories of best TV series for a drama, best supporting actress in a TV role (Sarah Snook), and best actor in a TV series for a drama (Jeremy Strong).
Some other awards included Encanto winning best animated motion picture, Jane Champion winning best director for a motion picture for The Power of the Dog, and Hans Zimmer winning best original score for a motion picture for Dune.
