Yesterday afternoon, a guest speaker from the Rachel’s Challenge organization spoke to the JHS student body about the life and mission of Columbine school shooting victim, Rachel Joy Scott.

Rachel was a young high school girl with dreams of changing the world by starting a chain reaction of kindness. Tragically, she was shot and killed in the school shooting at Columbine High School in 1999, but the world would not forget her mission.

Rachel left us with a challenge, a challenge to start a chain reaction by treating others with kindness. She believed that just one small act of kindness could inspire thousands of other small acts and change the world for the better.

If you feel inspired to accept Rachel’s challenge to spread kindness, sign your name on the banner outside the gym and commit to starting your own chain reaction.
