Friday, October 21, was Juniata’s final home football game of the season, and the JHS varsity football team was sure to make it count! With a 14-10 win against Line Mountain, the team could redeem itself after a tough loss against Upper Dauphin. They also returned their relentlessness when winning against Boiling Springs earlier this month. The first half ended with Line Mountain up 10-0, but with a third-quarter touchdown scored by Seth Laub and another by senior quarterback Aaron Kanagy in the fourth, it became Juniata’s game. The team’s defense was also another defining factor of the game. Senior Makih Hunt had one sack and five other tackles, while Lane Peiper led the team with three assisting and five solo tackles.

The game wasn’t just memorable because of the close win but also because it was the night we recognized our senior players— Ebel Gonzalez, Aaron Kanagy, Luis Carabello, Casey Smith, Caleb Smith, Waylon Ehrenzeller, Makih Hunt, Jordan Dickinson, Brant Walters, Devin Graybill, Taylor Smith, and Jonathan Kauffman. We’re very proud of all they’ve done so far this season and what they will continue to do after graduation.

Of course, it was also Juniata’s pink-out night, and we’d like to give a huge thank you to everyone who participated in this very worthy cause! So far, Juniata’s football team is looking very promising, and we’re all wishing them luck in the remainder of the season!
