Triple Ribbon of October

As we all know it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but there are other topics brought to awareness in October. One of the awareness topics is neurodivergent and mental disorders such as ADHD, Down Syndrome, depression, and mental health in general. ADHD and Down Syndrome are given awareness all of October. National Depression Screening Day is October 6th. Mental health is brought to awareness on October 10. Mental illnesses are brought to awareness the week of October 2nd to the 8th. There are also multiple dates regarding the LGBTQ+ community. National Coming Out Day is celebrated on October 11th every year. It is a day for people of the LGBTQ+ community to be open about their sexuality to people. Asexuality is brought to awareness on the week of October 22nd to the 28th. October 21st is Spirit Day. Spirit Day is a day where people wear purple to show their support for LGBTQ youth, and to stand against bullying of the community. Speaking of bullying, this month is also Bullying Prevention Month. This month is also Crime Prevention, and Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month. The last day that I will mention is Indigenous Peoples’ Day on October 10th. I hope this has informed you about the different topics that are also given awareness in October. Please remember, the best way to help anyone who is struggling is to just be kind!
