The SADD and Key clubs at Juniata High School have been keeping themselves busy so far this year. Heading towards Thanksgiving, the SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) club and Key club are coming together to do a food drive for the Juniata County Food Pantry. The items that are regularly needed are canned mixed vegetables, canned pineapple, and canned beets. For Thanksgiving meals specifically, they are looking for instant mashed potatoes, stuffing mix, cranberry sauce, turkey gravy, boxed brownie mix, and boxed cookie mix. They are also always grateful for any other donations of food or non-food items. In September, the Juniata County Food Pantry helped 191 families, which is about 525 individuals. Donating to the food pantry is a good reminder of all the things we have to be thankful for. The food drive will start November 14th and continue to November 22nd. The donations will be put in your eighth-period class. If you have no 8th-period class, you can choose which class to put it in. The eighth-period class to collect the most items will win a pizza party!
