On November 18th, the seniors took a trip to Washington D.C. After a three-hour bus ride consisting of watching “Good Luck Charlie”, playing as many card games as you can on a bus with no table, and fighting over personal space, we made it to the Capital City. After getting off the bus, we made our way to the National Museum of American History. We were left to wander around mindlessly and look at the plethora of exhibits they have. After exploring a bunch of historical items and having way too much fun on the escalators, we had lunch in the cafeteria in the museum. We unfortunately did not have enough time to look at everything the museum had to offer, but it was amazing. After that, we went on a trolley to explore a bunch of the monuments. We visited the WWII Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, the Vietnam Memorial, the FDR Memorial, the MLK Memorial, and other historical monuments. We explored the monuments on our own and read all about the history of them. With the end of the trolley tour, we were brought to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. We took a tour of the very sad, but insightful museum and that concluded our Washington D.C. tour. We got back on the bus and made our way to Toby’s Dinner Theatre. At Toby’s, we had delicious food and saw their production of It’s A Wonderful Life. Which was really good, in my most humble opinion. With that, we headed home at the ripe hour of 1 in the morning (I proceeded to sleep for 12 hours after sleeping the three-hour ride home).
