Attention all fall sports athletes!! The paperwork and activity fee for fall sports will be collected Thursday, July 30th from 4:00 - 6:00 pm in the cafeteria at Juniata High School. Please make sure all paperwork (including the physical form) is complete. The activity fee is $35 - please bring exact cash or a check made payable to "Juniata High School." If you can't make it that day the paperwork and fee can be dropped off at your home school between 8:00 a m and 2:00 pm. You can not practice or play until everything is turned in.

The Juniata County School District is selling a 62'x28' modular classroom, along with other miscellaneous items. Items may be viewed and sealed bids will be received on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. at Juniata High School, 3931 William Penn Highway, Mifflintown. Successful bidders will be notified and will be responsible for transport.

Parents/Guardians: Free sports physicals are being offered for current students in grades 9-11 who will be playing a sport during the 2026-2027 school year at Juniata High School on Thursday, May 28, 2026. If you wish to have your child receive a sports physical please complete the PIAA sports packet (with the exception of Section 6) and return it to school as soon as possible. Packets are located in the school library. If you wish to have the PIAA sports physical completed by a private physician, you may do so. Once Section 6 of the sports packet is completed, it should be returned to the school prior to the start of the sport. Any sports physical that is completed after May 1, 2026 will meet the requirements for students to participate in fall, winter, or spring sports next school year. The Juniata County School District Wellness Committee will meet on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. in the Juniata Senior High School cafeteria.
The Wellness Committee is to be comprised of, but not necessarily limited to, at least one School Board member, one district administrator, a district food service representative, a student, a parent/guardian, a school health professional, a physical education teacher and a member of the public. Other members may include: teachers, school counselors, coaches, support staff, dieticians, representatives of local or county agencies, representatives of community organizations, food vendors, and other individuals chosen by the district. A goal is that committee membership will include representatives from each school building and reflect the diversity of the community.
The Wellness Committee serves as an advisory committee regarding student health issues and is responsible for developing, implementing, reviewing and updating a school wellness policy; reviews and considers evidence-based strategies and techniques in establishing goals for nutrition education and promotion, physical activity and other school-based activities that promote student wellness; and reviews local assessment to plan for future policy revisions and program changes.
Specifically, at the May 13 meeting, the committee will be seeking input from students in regard to cafeteria menu selections.

JCSD is now closed. Due to ongoing snow showers, blowing snow, snow-covered roads in our outlying areas, and hazardous conditions on many secondary roads, all schools will be closed today. Although main roads are clear, the safety of our students, staff, and families remains our top priority.
JCSD will be closed today, January 27, 2026, due to unsafe road conditions and for the safety of students and staff.
The Juniata County School District will be operating on a three-hour delay on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, due to ongoing snow removal and predicted low wind chills. For additional information regarding delays, closures and remote learning, visit www.jcsdk12.org.
The Juniata County School District will be operating on a two hour delay on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 due to the anticipated extremely low morning wind chill temperatures.
The 2026 Spring Sports sign ups will begin Monday, January 12th. Students should stop in the school library to sign the sheet and get a packet.
Sports offered for grades 9-12 include baseball, track & field, softball, and tennis.
Sports offered for grades 7-8 include girl's junior high soccer and girl's junior high field hockey (co-op at EJ).
*IMPORTANT - Due to a lack of interest and low numbers - JH Girls Field Hockey must have 10 student-athletes signed up and committed to play by 3:15 pm on Friday, January 16. If these numbers are not met, there will not be a junior high field hockey season.
Due to snow covered roads and cold temperatures, Juniata County School District will be operating on a two hour delay today, December 16, 2025.
